Hi there,

My husband & I will be traveling from Narita to Tokyo, staying at Shinjuku area for 3 nights and then we plan to head to Mt. Fuji where we'll be staying at a Ryokan in Minamitsuru-gun, Yamansashi for 1 night. From there we'll be heading to Kyoto to stay 2 nights and then to Osaka for another 2 nights and then back to Tokyo for 1 night again before our departure from Narita again.

All in all it's a 10 day trip and since the passes are for 7 days, do you suggest that we purchase the 7 day pass to start from our trip to Mt. Fuji?

Please advise since it's our 1st time. Thank you.

Cheers!

Hi Anne,

Welcome to the forum! The key to using the JR Pass is to cover your longer distance travel with it. In your case this would be Yamanashi - Kyoto - Osaka - Tokyo. Given that this is a 4 night period, I would start using the JR Pass when you travel to Yamanashi. This way if would be valid for the entire trip and you can also use it for travel back to Narita Airport.

Hope this helps!
Daniel

Hi Daniel, thank you for your prompt n helpful reply. What pass do we need to get from Narita to Tokyo? And return too. Also how much is the 7 day pass in USD? Thank you.
