Hello!

My friend and I are spending two weeks in Japan - can't wait!

I am hoping someone can suggest the best pass for us - at this stage we are leaning towards individual tickets due to the Kyoto leg.

Day 1 = Tokyo to Nagano on the Shinkansen
Days 7 and 10 = buses in Nagano
Day 13 = Nagano to Kyoto
Day 15 = Kyoto to Tokyo

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I have to agree here and think buying normal tickets is the way to go. This because the price of normal tickets is below the cost of the JR Pass.

Though day 13 and 15 together are just below the cost of a 7 day JR Pass, so one could quickly become a good option if you where to add a little more travel.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
