Hi there,

Lets get a cost breakdown of your trip:

  1. Narita airport terminal 1 > Tokyo: ¥3140, (62mins, 79km)
  2. Tokyo > Nagoya: ¥10780, (126mins, 366km)
  3. Nagoya > Tsuruhashi: ¥6380, (86mins, 198km)
  4. Tsuruhashi > Nagoya: ¥6380, (89mins, 198km)

TOTAL: ¥26680 for 4 legs

If this is the full extent of your travel then I recommend purchasing individual tickets as needed over a 7 or 14 day pass (¥28,300 and ¥45,100 respectively). Your JR ticket costs by themselves do approach the same cost as a 7 day pass, however you need to travel over a 14 day period and so this will not be suitable for you.

To help with your travel in Tokyo I recommend you look at either the Keisei Skyline + Metro Pass or the [Narita Express + Suica prepaid card] deals. This will at least give you savings at the start of your trip.

Hope this helps!

Hi there,

To make your free seat reservations you'll need to first exchange your rail passes in Japan, and then visit a JR ticket counter with your Japan Rail Pass. I recommend doing this at Tokyo station as the Narita JR Pass office can be busy.

If you need to purchase individual tickets you will certainly be able to do this at Tokyo station, however if you opt for one of the packages I recommend you should have a lot of your Tokyo travel included for free.

Hope this helps!
