We arrive in Tokyo for 3 night, then Kyoto for 3 night , the Osaka for 3 nights and back to Tokyo for 2 nights.
I am now thinking that maybe to many in one area. Do you think it would be better to maybe go to Takayama for 3 nights instead, or increase Kyoto to 4 and 2 nights some other area.
Thank you for your help

Certainly you could expand your trip - if you get the Pass, you can go all over the country. Three nights in Takayama may be excessive, but 2D/1N there would be good, plus Kanazawa is nearby and well worth a night's stay. And spending a day or two to see Hiroshima/Miyajima would also make a great trip and enhance the value of your pass.
Since you are already seeing Tokyo, you can largely skip Osaka during the day. After the temples of Kyoto close down around 5PM, you can zip over to Osaka for the evening. At night the city comes alive and has some great places to see, such as Dotonbori, plus the night views from the Umeda Sky Bldg, and Abeno Harukas Bldg are wonderful.

There are many nearby sights for you to enjoy, including Nara, Koyasan, Hikone, and Kobe.

Thank you so much, yes we are planning on doing day trips from Kyoto and Osaka. So much to see in so little time just trying to work out .
Thanks again
