Hi there,

I am always happy to help out fellow travellers and point people in the right direct. However I am afraid that I would still be writing tomorrow if I where to answer all your questions.

Instead I'll share some of the tools I use so you can plan like a pro!

The first is Hyperdia, this website is great for finding routes and also routes covered by the JR Pass. [Here is how to plan with Hyperdia.

The 2nd are maps resources, finding out where a place is can give you a good feel for the distance involved and how to get there. Here is a JR Map but also things like google maps are a great help. For instance if you need to find the closest station, find your hotel and zoom out until you find the closest station. It sounds simply and it is :) Google maps is also great to find local travel options.

The third is searching for particular access routes. For instance simply doing a google search: Miyajima + access will give you different options and the best way how to get there.

Hope this helps and good luck with your travels!
Daniel
