Hi, I am planning to visit Japan for 10 days with my wife and two kids. We plan to spend a few days in Tokyo, then travel to Kyoto, return to Tokyo, spend a few more days there and then also do a couple of day trips from Tokyo (e.g. Yokohama, Kamakura). Would 7-day pass make sense for this scenario, or am I better off buying individual tickets?
Question on 7-day Pass
Hi there,
The JR Pass would work very well for your itinerary. Using a 7 day Japan Rail Pass costs about the same as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto using the bullet trains. Now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price and you can also use the JR Pass for day trip to Kamakura, Yokohama or even Nikko. Additionally the JR Pass can be used for local travel on JR lines within Tokyo.
Hope you find this useful,
Daniel
