Dear all,
My family and I are going to Nagoya in Dec 2015.
My itinerary is as follows:
Day I Nagoya
Day 2 Kyoto
Day 3 Kanazawa
Day 4 to 5 Takayama
Day 6 Gero
Day 7 to 10 Nagoya
There are 3 adults and 3 children travelling.
Do we need to buy JR pass for our trip?
Thanks

Hi there,

I checked the cost of making the full circle Nagoya - Kyoto - Kanazawa - Takayama - Gero - Nagoya. This will cost 24,100 JPY. This is below the price of a 7 day JR Pass (29110 JPY). So for now I would recommend purchasing normal tickets.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Dear Daniel,
Thank you for taking the effort to help to calculate the cost of travelling for my itinerary. Can I seek your advice again, do you think I should buy the Takayama -Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass (5 days ) for my trip since I am covering those places in that area?

Regards,
Mcmug

Hi Mcmug,

Certainly! You could use it for travel form Kyoto - Kanazawa ... Nagoya. It would work very well.

Enjoy Japan!
Daniel
