Hi,

Just to get an opinion here for the places that i am planning to this month of May.

1) is the itinerary above ok?
2) osaka 3nights - tokyo 2 night - toyama 2 nights - mt fuji 1 night-osaka.
3) jr pass will cover all the train fees?
4) for tateyama kurobe alpine route, should i stay back at toyama if next to mt fuji?

Thanks in advance

Green

Hi Green,

I think it would work better to visit Fuji as a day trip from Tokyo then to visit Fuji after the Alpine route and then travel on to Osaka. However it is possible, if you can't change it, then I recommend going down the Alpine route and finishing in Shinano-Omachi, from there you can use the JR to travel around Fuji.

The JR Pass will cover as good as all your travel but you may still need local travel in some areas, as well as for transport from Toyama to the alpine route.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks daniel for the prompt reply. What do you think if i change the itinerary like below:

Osaka -mt fuji - tokyo - toyama - alphine - toyama - osaka?

Looking forward to hear from you.

This looks much better and will make your travel easier, however I would not return to Toyama, this would basically mean doing the Alpine route twice and also twice the cost. Better to finish the Alpine route and take the train from there to Osaka.
