Hi. I need some help and advice. Below is the breakdown of my travels and I would like to know if getting the JR Pass is ideal for my trip? And also I know the JR Pass is only valid for 7 days - so which day should I activate it since I have 8 days of travels in Japan?

Day 1: Reach Kansai Airport, 10AM
Osaka-Kyoto-Umahori

Day 2: Kyoto
Kyoto Station- Saga Arashiyama

Day 3:
Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto

Day 4:
Kyoto-Osaka

Day 5:
Universal Studio Osaka
(Is this the Osaka Loop line under JR?)

Day 6:
Osaka - Tokyo

Day 7:
Tokyo

Day 8:
Tokyo-Narita

Please help me out! Thanks!!

Hi there,

I checked the route you plan to travel and advise buying normal tickets for your travels. Your travel is concentrated in the Kansai and Tokyo regions with one longer route from Osaka - Tokyo. This means that your travel costs are relatively low and a JR Pass would not help you make savings.

You can check fare prices via our Fare Calculator.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
