My wife and I are travelling through Japan from August 9th through August 24th. Aug 9th - 14th Narita to Shinjuku Tokyo Aug 14th - 15th Nagasawa Aug 15th - 19th Kyoto Aug 19th - 24th Nara to Kansai Airport I'm trying to determine if the Rail Pass will be the best financial option. Will the Nagasawa stop be outside of the JR coverage? Hi there, Thanks :) Here are some answers for you: 1&2. Hmm - This very much depends on which Nagasawa you mean - are you thinking of Nagasawa near Tokyo, or Nagasawa in Yamagata? 3. At ¥3110 Narita to Shinjuku will be more expensive than Nara to Kansai Airport at a maximum of ¥2900. You can look up precise train timetables and costs at the Hyperdia travel planning website and learn how to use Hyperdia through our video blog. Thanks, Mari! The Hyperdia travel website is exactly the kind of resource I needed to plan out my routes and determine cost. I meant the Nagasawa near Tokyo, but I just found out the friend I was going to visit will be out of town. So that leg of the journey will just be absorbed into more time in Kyoto or a night at Mt.
