Kyoto Tokyo trip

Planning a trip to Japan next month.

Day1: Fly to Kansai Airport and stay at Sakura Terrace (around Kyoto Station)
Day4: Kyoto to Tokyo by bullet train
Day 7: Fly out of Narita airport

Am wondering if I should be buying the Japan Rail Pass or should just buy tickets for each leg of my journey.

I think I will need to take the train from Kansai airport to my hotel in Kyoto. Might do a day trip to Nara in Kyoto and possibly Hakone and Disneyland in Tokyo. And would likely also need to take the train to Narita airport in Tokyo as I will be staying in Shinjuku.

What do you guys think. Should I go for the rail pass?

Hi there,

I'd advise buying tickets on the go. There's not enough travel cost in the above itinerary for a JR Pass to pay of.

In Tokyo you could consider the Tokyo Metro day pass within Tokyo if you plan on doing a good amount of sightseeing.

Enjoy Japan!
