We are planning our almost 18 days trip!
We ve just analyzed places and according our lifestyle (we love City, we want to have a breakfast at Budhism temple and meet some Art), we choose some places and now we are trying to understand which would be the best combination to save money and dont waste time:

NOV. 11TH WED arrive at NRT airport 6.20am.
Wait until 7am to buy COMBINED TICKETS 3 DAYS METRO + SKYLINER ONE WAY (to be used during lasts 3 days at Tokyo + airport).
Leaving airport ACTIVATING JR PASS (we´ve already bought 14 DAYS and waiting to receive), going to KANAZAWA.
NOV 12 + NOV 13: KANAZAWA and leave on 13th to HIROSHIMA,
NOV 14 stay at hiroshima and
NOV 15TH leave to osaka. Staying there, we are planing to go for HAKONE, KYOTO, NARA during 2 or 3 days (NOV 16/17/18)
NOV 19: OSAKA-KOYASAN and stay there for 2 nights
NOV 20 (or 21): KOYASAN-TOKYO

First day at TOKYO going to NIKKO to spend the day.
22, 23, 24 (END OF JR), 25 (3 days pass subway), 26, 27 TOKYO.
28 TO NRT WITH ONE WAY KANSAI.

Do you find it interesting or having some suggestion? KOYASAN is difficult to include because of the journey, seems to be complicated to go with lugagge and so on.

Thank you in advance!

Hi there,

The itinerary looks great for the most part, there are two parts where I recommend a little re-planning.

1.) One is travel top Hakone, Hakone is much closer to Tokyo than it is to Osaka. It would make more sense to make a stopover when traveling from Osaka to Tokyo.

2.) Two is Koya-san, while it may sound hard to get there, it is all pretty easy once you get on the train. The station for Koya is called Gokurakubashi on the Nankai express. You can always store your luggage at Osaka station or somewhere else, however I don't think it would be too hard to bring it with you.

My advice would be to see if you can switch Koya and Hakone around and then travel on from Hakone to Tokyo. This would make more sense in routing, although it is not a problem if you keep it like this.

Hope this helps!
Daniel

Daniel, nice to hear a piece of advice from you!

It was enough to read your lines, Im certainly including KOYA. Leaving lugagge would be perfect, thanks!

On the other hand, If HAKONE means HAKONE ITABASHI (cause I couldnt find just HAKONE as a simple place at hyperdia), I bet I can spend the day while staying at OSAKA. Could I get your point? Are you suggesting me an stop at HAKONE ITABASHI?
Or HAKONE you are suggesting me is HAKONE YUMOTO? In this case, I ve noticed is far away from OSAKA (as 6 hours). So, are you suggesting me to SPEND A DAY at HAKONE YUMOTO when traveling from KOYA to TOKYO?

I am really wondering if just ONE night at KOYASAN makes full experience and spend two days is unnecessary.

It will be my first time in Japan, I know you understand my doubts. I dont want to miss a thing!
