We are not sure what jr pass is more suitable for us and if we can use it within the cities:
Naruta-shinjuku
2 days in tokyo
Odawara-Kyoto
3 days in Kyoto
Kyoto-yamazaki
Yamazaki-Osaka
3 days in Osaka
Osaka-Tokyo
2 more days in tokyo.

Hello Cate.
Yes a 7 day JR Pass would work very well if you can use it at least for Tokyo - Odawara - Kyoto - Osaka - Tokyo. This will allow you to make nice savings and the major part of your travel will be covered.
One thing not clear to me is Yamazaki, while it is a perfect Wiskey I am not familiar with the place by that name.
