Hi,

I'm planning to travel to Tokyo to kawaguchiko, to kyoto, to osaka then back to tokyo..
I understand that the best way to get to kawaguchiko is to take the train from shinjuku to otsuki then take the fujikyu line for the otsuki - kawaguchiko section.. But I'm wondering if it is possible to go straight to kyoto from otsuki? I've read many threads that says I have to go back to tokyo to get a train to kyoto but I don't want to do that. so does anyone know if its possible to travel to kyoto from otsuki?

Thanks

Hi there,

It's not possible to travel directly from Kyoto to Otsuki, mostly because there's a big volcano between both places, called Fuji-San.

Getting to Otsuki does mean going nearly all the way to Tokyo first before taking a train to Otsuki.

Here is an example route.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
