hi, six of us would be travelling to Japan between 14th to 23rd October landing in Osaka Kansai Airport. Our itinerary is to travel to Kyoto on 14th after we have landed at 5.40pm. Will go to Nara for a day trip as well. We want to leave for Hakone from Kyoto on 16th, stay one night and leave Hakone to Tokyo on 17th. We will then be departing from Tokyo back to Malaysia on the 23rd of October. For the above itinerary how do I go about travelling from places to places using a Japan Rail Pass? or would it be cheaper if I just buy individual tickets?

I would also be extremely grateful if you can let me know the exact name of station and change of station for Kansai Airport-Kyoto, Kyoto- Nara, Kyoto-Hakone and Hakone-Tokyo.

Thank you very much.

Hi there,

For this itinerary it would be cheaper to simply buy normal tickets during travel.

A JR Pass would work great if you made a return Kyoto - Tokyo for instance. Now you travel one way with different stops in between.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
