Hi there,

The best way to visit Fuji 5 Lakes is via Tokyo, whilst Takayama is best accessed from Nagoya. However Tokyo is not too hard either these days.

If you have to decide between staying in Nagoya or Tokyo, go for Tokyo. Also note that it is not recommended to go directly from Fuji 5 Lakes to Takayama, as this route is rather long. It is better to make a stop in between at Tokyo.

Hi thanks Daniel.
Would it be then better
Sin-Nagoya-Takayama-Tokyo-Mt Fuji-Tokyo-Sin?

Also, would JR be the best way to travel in between, covered by the pass? Otherwise, what mode of travel would be best?

Hi again!

Yes that looks much better.

Travel between the cities is covered but you may need to use non JR transport for travel around Fuji.
