Do we need a JRP? If so, which one: 7, 14 or 21 days?

Good morning,

We are very grateful if you could assist us with buying the right JRP.

  • We will be arriving on Tokyo Narita Airport on 22.07.2014.
  • On 28.07.2014 we will be travelling to Kyoto.
  • On 03.08.2014 we will be travelling back to Tokyo.
  • 06.08.2014 return from Tokyo Narita to home.

We do not know exactly what would be the best option, so if you could assist us....

Thank you very much!

Hello there,

I would suggest a 7 day JR Pass for your travel and use it for travel from Tokyo - Kyoto and back. The 7 day JR Pass is roughly the same price as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto on the Shinkansen. Now you get 7 days of unlimited travel for the same price. For instance it would be easy to make a visit to Osaka, Nara, Kobe, Kinosaki-Onsen or even Hiroshima.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
