Hello there,
You could consider a northern Kyushu pass for visiting Nagasaki and possibly also get a discount for travel to Tsuwano by using the pass for travel up to Kokura. However I would not buy a JR Sanyo (west) Pass.
Hope this helps!
Daniel
Thanks Daniel, how do I qualify for the discount or how do I go about getting it?
You mean the part Hakata - Tsuwano? What I ment is you could use the pass for travel to Kokura and there you could buy a normal tickets to Tsuwano. This way you can cover the fare between Hakata - Kokura and save some extra monies.
For purchasing the pass, just go to Hakata station, tell the staff you wish to purchase JR Kyushu pass and show your passport with your tourist visa.
Thanks so much for the tip :) so when I go on shinkansen I need to pay the extra for seat reservation? Does it mean that I do not get seats if I don't reserve? Also does the N Kyushu pass allow the use on JR buses?
The JR (kyushu) Pass allows for free seat reservations on the Shinkansen. Trains have both reserved and non reserved seats. Both are free to use, however it is nice to know that your seat is only for you and you don't have to line up beforehand to get one.
The Kyushu pass is not valid for buses.
Thanks so much, appreciate all your effort. You have no idea what a big help you are. :)
