Hi there,

I will be arriving in Japan on 14 April via Osaka.
I will travel:

15 April Osaka to Kyoto, till 16 April
16 April -17- Kyoto to Nara
18 April, Leave Nara for Tokyo. 18-21 Tokyo -travel around Tokyo to sightsee and visit friends)
21 April leave Tokyo for Shizuoka. 21-23 Shizuoka
23 or 24 morning leave for Osaka, then to Osaka airport.

Please advise if i should get the 7 day JR pass or any other suitable pass based on my travel above.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
Waji

Hi Waji,

Yes I think that a 7 day JR Pass would be of good use to you. The 7 day JR Pass is roughly the same price as a normal return ticket Kyoto - Tokyo on the Shinkansen. Any additional travel is basically what you save. You are already making savings by visiting Shizuoka.

In addition you can also use the JR Pass for local travel. such as to Nara or within Tokyo and Osaka on the local JR Network, covering most of both cities.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
