Hello there,

Yes a 7 day JR Pass will work great! Just making the return between Kansai - Tokyo alone almost pays for the JR Pass. The JR Pass can also be used for local travel in Tokyo, within Kyoto to Fushimi Inari, to Nara, Himeji and Kansai Airport.

The Itinerary looks great btw! We have a similar suggested 7 day Itinerary that you may find useful.

Hope this helps,

Thank you so much Daniel! I'm still quite confused on where we can use the JR Pass. Do you have a simple list where I can refer to which trains/lines can we use it?

Thank you so much!

Hi there,

There are so many JR lines in Japan that it is impossible to list them all.

However we have great resources to get you started.

One is this map with all JR lines in Japan.

Also learning to plan with Hyperdia will make travel around Japan much easier.

Hope this helps,
