Hi Fausto,

Welcome back! Sorry for the late replay, I got a little caught up in traveling myself.
Can I assume that you fly back from Osaka/Kansai Airport? Also day 8 is probably Kyoto right?

I made a little list of ticket prices to see what is wisdom.
Narita Airport --> Tokyo ¥ 3,140
Tokyo Nikko ¥ 11,260
Tokyo Kamakura ¥ 1,780
Tokyo --> Takayama ¥ 14,600
Takayama --> Kyoto ¥ 9,980
Kyoto Nara 1,380
Kyoto Ise, I would recommend taking the Kintetsu Railway for this because JR takes a lot longer via Nagoya
Kyoto -> Hiroshima ¥ 10,990
Hiroshima Miyajima ¥ 940
Hiroshima --> Kyoto ¥ 10,990
Osaka --> Kansai Airport ¥ 1,160

This adds up to ¥ 65,060, the 14-day JR Pass is ¥ 45,100 Yen, saving you at least ¥ 19,960.
Please note that I left the return to Kansai airport out as this would fall out side of the 14 day usage period.
You can also use the JR-Pass for local JR Lines in Tokyo and for the day trip to Himeji for instance.

I think the 14-Day JR Pass would be a great option for this plan! If you used it from the 27th (day one) until the 10th (day 14) than you could use it for all your long distance travel and make some very good savings.

Some of your travels to places like Fuji-san and Mount Koya are reached by other railway companies so you won't be able to use the pass for the (full) trip there. I would recommend taking the Fujikyu line from Otsuki in Tokyo, this train is 1,100Yen and makes for a very nice trip.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions!

dear Daniel

as usual you are very helpfull, you are an angel !!
thank you a lot for all your explanation
ok, i'll buy 14 days JR pass

i take the chance to ask you some points in order to avoid any misunderstanding:

you recommend to take the Fujikyu line from Otsuki in Tokyo, this train is 1,100Yen and makes for a very nice trip....but this train is for mt.Fuji ?? is this train with JR pass or not ?? sorry but i want to be sure to have well understood

you wrote that Mount Koya is not reached by JR pass....but reading the lonely planet guide book there is a JR train from kyoto to hashimoto and changement in nara,sakurai and takata !! is ti right ??
if you think that this long trip to mount Koya doesn't worth..never mind i can change my schedule and i can go in another places that you can suggest,reccomend to me !!

waiting for yr kind helpfull reply...
thanks again

Hi again Fausto!

Glad that you find it useful!

Yes what I meant is that you can use the JR-Pass to travel to the station called Otsuki, from there you can take the Fujikyu railway, which is a private railway and does not accept the JR-Pass. From Otsuki to Fuji-5-lakes station it is 1,100Yen. This is the most economic way to travel to Fuji with the JR-Pass. You can find more information on how to travel to Fuji-san here.

About Koya-san.
Yes you can indeed use your JR-Pass to travel to Hashimoto and take a local train to Koya from there. This however can involve a couple of transfers and take up extra time. The ticket price Hashimoto to Gokurakubashi (the station name for the mount) is ¥ 430 from there you can take the cable car that costs ¥ 360. I would only consider going via Hashimoto if you want to save as much money as you can.
I think the best to Koya-san is the Koyasan World Heritage Ticket which is 2,780 Yen and includes a return from Osaka, the cable car and various discounts on local attractions.
But DO visit Koya, personally I think it is one of the best places in Japan especially if you stay there for the night!

Hope this helps!
