Hi there,

I see you have planned a busy trip to Japan. There's plenty involved and I would advise buying a 14 day JR Pass if you have not already. In case you have a 7 day JR Pass, activate it on day 15th, this would give you the best savings. You could also stay the night in Osaka and travel the following morning to Nagoya on the 16th, this would allow you to cover the one way to Nagoya as well with the JR Pass.

The rest of the itinerary looks good and busy. I am sure that you'll have a great time in Japan.

Hi, Daniel
Understand that Mt Fuji can be seen from JR from Nagoya - Tokyo by asking for a D or E seat , Is this info correct?
Your advise is highly appreciated.
Thank you.

Daniel,

Thanks for your confirmation.

What do you think if I don't include Nagoya into my itinerary and more time elsewhere. Nagoya does not offer much in the way of cultural experience or tourism?

I have good amount of time at Kyoto/ Osaka, so I may make Nara day trip after back from Hiroshima, do you think workable?

After my 7 days JR pass expires. Can please advise ,what kind of public transport services should i take at Kyoto/ Osaka?

Thanks & Regards

Hi again!

Nagoya is indeed more a city for business than touristm. Though there are still different sights worth visiting, such as Nagoya Castle, the Maglev museum and the small shopping streets found in the center.

Nara as a day trip works very well and I recommend planning it in.

In Kyoto there's a 500yen bus ticket that can be purchased from the driver, this is a great way to travel around. In Osaka you could look at the Osaka Amazing Pass.

Hope this helps :)

Hi, Daniel

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Any JR Bus services for sightseeing ?

For Nagoya - halfday trip is it good enough by Me -Guru Route Bus to access the sights as you mentioned.
Do you know the duration of the round trip tour ?

For Nara -any Route Bus service to major sighseeing spots ?
Half day / 1 day At Nara ?

Any suggestions for daytrip to Hakone for Mt Fuji Sightseeing ?

Please advise .

Thank you very much.

Hi again!

Most JR buses are commuter buses and not really used for sightseeing.

Half a day for Nagoya sounds good to me. I am not sure how tong the tour takes but I do think a couple of hours is more than enough.

Nara is very small and can be explore on foot, there are also circle buses that cost 100yen per ride if you prefer to take the bus from sight to sight.

For Fuji, please see:http://www.jrpass.com/blogs/itinerary-tip-mt-fuji

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi Hing,

Sorry for the late replay, I missed your previous post.

In Nagago, I recommend a visit to the local Zenkoji temple complex, the snow monies of Jigokudani and a visit to Yudanaka if you like to try a Japanese onsen.

For access information please see this page.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
