Hi there,

Need help in deciding our itinerary.
We are reaching Tokyo this Wednesday 10am. We are 2 adults & 1 child 10years old.

Made a sudden plan...so not much time to decide intinerary.

Pls guide if this looks good

27th july - Reaching Narita airport at 10am.
Planning to visit Asakusa, Sensoji shrine, Harajuku, Takshita street, Asakusa Nahasima, Tokyo skytree, sumida river boat ride & fire works. Is there any locker available at the asakusa station where we can deposit our luggage and move around. Don't want to waste time going to the hotel to drop luggage.
We are staying in Sheraton Miyako Hotel.
I think it is possible to visit all the above in a day since they are located nearby.
pls kindly guide

28th July - Disneysea

29th July - Mt fuji- We are planning to go on our own to Mount fuji and from there go to Kyoto. Also we are thinking abt taking the bullet train. Don't know how to book the tickets for bullet train.
Also what is the best way to reach Kyoto from Mt fuji.
where to do night stay Kyoto or somewhere near to Mt Fuji?

30th July - Kyoto

Will stay overnight at Kyoto and take the early morning bullet train from Kyoto to Tokyo.
We have a flight to catch from Narita airport at 12.00pm.

We are planning to buy JR pass or should we buy individual tickets?

Sorry for asking too many questions. Pls provide suggestions.

thanks in advance

Hi there,

Plan for 27th July, this looks good. There will be plenty of lockers at the station, so storing your luggage there for a while works fine.

Travel from Fuji to Kyoto is not always easy and straightforward. In order to avoid travelling too much, I recommend visiting Hakone and view Fuji from there. Hakone also has a Shinkansen station by the name of Odawara, from there you can use the Hikari Shinkansen directly to Kyoto.

For your itinerary I recommend purchasing a 7 day JR Pass. The cost of a 7 day JR Pass is about the same as a normal return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto and any other travel you can cover with it will be what you save.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

thanks a lot Danial for your prompt reply.

Actually on 27th I need to store my luggage full day at the Asakusa station.
Any idea about the luggage storing charges.

Also should we stay overnight in Hakone or Kyoto?
Can you recommend any traditional japanese Hotel?

thanks a lot

Hi again,

Coin lockers generally cost 300-900yen per 24h. This depends on the size.

I don't have any specific recommendations, I would read travellers reviews on general booking websites to get a better idea.

Enjoy!
