Hiya
I will be travelling for 28 days in Japan: 7 days in Tokyo, 10 days in Kyoto, 7 days in Nozawa Onsen, 6 days in Tokyo.
What would be the best Japan Rail Pass to buy? Will I also need a pass for trains around Tokyo, and Kyoto?
Thanks

Hi there,
I think the best option here would be simply to buy normal tickets.
A JR Pass gives the best value if used at least every couple of days. Will so much time in each city, the JR Pass will just expire without ahving been used well.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
Thanks Daniel
our bigger journeys will be Narita airport to Tokyo, Tokyo to Kyoto, Kyoto to Tokyo, then to Nozawa, Nozawa to Tokyo, Tokyo to Narita Airport. Are these the only journeys that we would use a JR pass for?
Will we need different train tickets for travelling around Tokyo and Kyoto?
thanks so much for your assistance :)
Hi again!
The JR Pass also covers the JR lines in Tokyo and can also be used for a limited extend in Kyoto.
You may however still need to buy local tickets for the bus/metro.
Narita airport to Tokyo, Tokyo to Kyoto, Kyoto to Tokyo, then to Nozawa, Nozawa to Tokyo, Tokyo to Narita Airport is all covered and just travelling this would give you good savings using a 7 day JR Pass.
