Hi,

I'm wondering how I can make this itinerary possible, and if it's worth buying a 21-day JRP:

Tokyo- 4 days March 14-18
Nikko- 2 days March 18-20
Hakone- 2 days March 20-22
Matsumoto- 2 days March 22-24
Kanazawa- 2 days March 24-26
Shirakawa-go- 2 days March 26-28
Takayama- 2 days March 28-30
Kyoto- 4 days March 30-April 3
Nara- 2 days April 3- 5
Hiroshima- 2 days April 5-7

Then back to Tokyo on April 7th, my flight is on the 8th. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you and hope to hear back soon.

Best Regards,

-Chris

Hi there,

You will be traveling a lot, especially the trips to Hiroshima and Nikko add a lot of additional travel costs and using a 21 day JR Pass will be a big help. The only part not included in the JR Pass would be the bus to and from Shirakawa-go.

I also like the added visit to Matsumoto, the city is not very big but well worth visiting. You can also use it as a base to visit Shirakawa-go.

You can also use the JR Pass on the tourist bus in Hiroshima and Ferry to Miyajima..

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Ok great, my other question is: can I activate the 21 day pass after I spend the first four days in Tokyo? For example, can I buy it now, then activate it on March 19th?
