14 days in Japan - which trains do I take?

Itinerary is:
Osaka 30/11/2015 - 4/12/2015
Kyoto 4/12/2015 - 7/12/15
Hakuba 7/12/2015 - 13/12/2015

Which trains do I take and what pass should I buy. Also will I make it back to Osaka on the 13th for an evening flight if I leave Hakuba on the 13th or do I need to leave the night before.

Hi there,

It is a pretty long trip from Osaka to Hakone. I have made an example itinerary for you here. THe JR Pass covers this route.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thanks Daniel,
Would I have to get a 14 day pass even though we may only use the trains on three of the 14 days.
Is there a timetable I can access so I can work out if I will make my plane flight.

Hi Bron,

If this is the only travel you will do. Then I advise buying normal tickets as the price of a return ticket Osaka - Hakuba. (Kyoto and Osaka are also very close and tickets are only 560yen/one way).

You can use link above and change the date and time at the bottom of the page to your own liking. This way you can find routes and schedules.

-Daniel
