Hello all!
We are going to Japan for 11 days with a friend and we are hesitating between 2 itineraries:
OPTION 1:
Day 1: Arrival 3 PM Tokyo
Day 2: Tokyo
Day 3: Tokyo
Day 4: Kamikochi
Day 5: Kamikochi
Day 6: Kamikochi
Day 7: Kyoto
Day 8: Kyoto
Day 9: Kyoto
Day 10: Osaka
Day 11: Osaka Departure mid-day
( We wanted to do Nikko as well but we cancel this city for this option as it might be too much)
OPTION 2:
Day 1: Arrival 3 PM Tokyo
Day 2: Tokyo
Day 3: Tokyo
Day 4: Day trip to Mt Fuji 5 lakes
Day 5: Day trip to Niko
Day 6: Kyoto
Day 7: Kyoto
Day 8: Kyoto
Day 9: Osaka
Day 10: Osaka
Day 11: Osaka Departure mid-day
We would like to see the Japanese Alps as we've heard the sceneries are amazing but we are afraid it will be a lot of transport in option 1 so that's why we are hesitating with option 2 which is a more common itinerary...
(We are not interested to see too many temples or buddhas (I live in China and seen too many...), we want to see beautiful Autumn scenery, some nature and experience the Japanese modern city atmosphere and food!!).
Any advice? Also is the JR Pass good for both trips? Our budget is a bit tight.
Thank you for your help and advice! We are leaving in 5days, it's kind of a last minute trip planning, hope we take the good decision!
Sarah
