Refund unused JR Pass vouchers in Japan? We traveled to Japan, but due to a medical emergency at the start of our trip, we won't be using our JR vouchers that we brought with us. How do I go about getting a refund of these unused vouchers here in Japan? We're currently in Tokyo. Thanks, |

Hi Ichi, You can visit any of these JR ticket offices and refund your unused Japan Rail Pass Exchange Order. As you are in Tokyo, visiting the Exchange Counter or Ticket Office at Tokyo station will be your easiest course of action. Hope this helps! |

I went to the Tokyo station and asked for a refund. But they said I had to mail those back to the company that I ordered them from. If that's the procedure, where do I mail those back to? |

Hi Ichi - that's very strange. There are normally 2 procedures for refund:
If you are having trouble refunding it in Japan (which seems unusual - perhaps you could try again?), then you can always return it to us for a refund within 1 year of the date of purchase provided they were purchased at jrpass.com. Please contact support@jrpass.com with your original jrpass.com order number for full information on our refund procedure. Hope this helps! |

You were right about trying again. I was able to get a refund, minus a10% refund charge, at the Kagoshima station. So, yes, it is strange to me as well why I had a problem at Tokyo station. Thank you, |
