I will be arriving in Kansai International Airport and intend to stay in Osaka - 3 nights, Kyoto - 4 nights and Tokyo - 4 nights then leaving from Haneda International Airport.

During our stay in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo would travel around cities by public transport.

What would be best buy for train ticket. Please advice.

Hi there,

For your itinerary I would recommend buying a normal Shinkansen ticket Kyoto - Osaka. A JR Pass would be useful if you make a return but its simply more economic to buy a normal ticket if you travel to Tokyo one way.

For local travel within cities I recommend buying day passes, such as for the Metro in Tokyo or bus in Kyoto.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
