Hi Mick,

From JR Shinagawa you can access the Tokaido shinkansen bullet train which runs between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. You can also access local JR Yamanote, Joban and Keihin Tokoku lines for easy access to lots of destinations in and around Tokyo. Here's a map of JR lines and stations in Tokyo for reference.
