Kansai > Osaka > Kyoto > Koya > Nara > Hiroshima > KansaiHi, Also, if we get a JR 7 day pass can we validate it in Kyoto? I believe we could get a one day pass to get us from the airport to Kyoto for about 1600 yen. Appreciate any help. |

Hi there! For a trip like this I think it'll be touch and go whether a 7 day rail pass (¥28,300) makes sense for you. Lets take a look at your JR costs for the Hiroshima leg of your trip as this is the most pricey (please note that Koyasan is reached via non-JR trains from Osaka Nanba station and so has not been included).
TOTAL: ¥22620 for 2 legs As you can see it looks like you'll be better off purchasing single tickets as needed for this sort of trip. You may also like to take a look at these other Local Region Rail Passes that may fit your plans better. Hope this helps! |

Hi there! You will be able to use the rail pass to get to Nara, however you cannot use the JR Pass to get to Mt Koya as that line is not operated by JR. The total cost of the at return to nara is ¥1380, so you'll need to do further travel still I think. In general a longer bullet train trip (for example up to Tokyo or Takayama or a visit to an onsen such as Kinosaki onsen) is what you need to add to make a JR Pass cost effective. Hope this helps! |
