Hi there, Yes, looking at your itinerary I think it would be worth you getting a 7 day pass. A return trip from Tokyo to Osaka on the bullet train is approximately the same price as a 7 day pass, so you will make ample savings with your additional travel, especially the trip to Miyajima. Hope this helps! |

Hi, Thanks for your response. I will definitely be getting a pass. I did have one more question about the Pass......once you buy the pass do still need to make reservations for each particular trip or do you just show up to the train station with your pass and expect to ride the next available train? Thanks in advance! |

Hi there, In general you can just turn up and board the next available train (even on the bullet train). However seat reservations are free if you want, and often the reserved seating, especially on some bullet trains in the JR-West area, tend to be more comfortable. Also, there are some trains that require a reservation. The one you're most likely to come across is the Narita Express. Reservations are easy to make, and you just need to show your JR pass at the JR ticket office and you will quickly be issued with one. Hope this helps! |
